AEP Blog #1 Analysis of TED Video

http://www.ted.com/talks/brian_greene_on_string_theory.html

My analysis of this presentation:

Impression:
Brian Greene's first impression is that he is very very energetic and talks in a way that makes the listener want to hear more; in other words, he is a great presenter in my opinion. His main point is that the [Super string theory] in physics will prove that there are numerous small strings, the smallest matters that compose everything in the universe, in other dimentions; in a world impossible to see with the naked eye and even the most finest scientific apparatus as of now. He advocates that humans are yet to figure out the mystery but will eventually get there in the next five to ten years. And when they do, it will be one of the greatest discovery in the world of physics and the history of the world.

I really enjoyed every part of this video. Even though I do not know much about physics, I have had interest in the Super string theory and Greene's presentation made it really easy to understand the basics of this theory. In addition, his presentation skills were amazing.

Strong Points

・Speaks very clearly throughout the presentation without even hesitating or studdering once-amazing.

・He uses pauses at points where he wants to emphasize and also points he wants the listener to think about.

・His voices have impact to keep the audience interested and focused on his points.

・He does not use notes and power points with words but uses visuals and body language to let the audience better understand what he is trying to say.

・He gives out the points (eg: question) then talks about them one by one which makes the audience know what he is going to talk about and go deep into beforehand.

・Keeps going deeper with the topic, but refers back connecting them with previous points to make his main points.

・Greene knows what he is talking about and has confidents in his self.

Weak Points

・Although I felt comfortable with it, it may be better to talk a little slower to keep up with what he is trying to say.

・Since the topic is relatively scientific, he should define some terms in order to make the topic easier to understand. (Although it maybe hard in a situation with short presentation alloted
